A Little Thanksgiving Love

Thanksgiving is always a good time to reflect on the blessings you have that may be taken for granted for most of the year. In GoFit yesterday it was just Rebecca and I. She joined us last year and I found my self reflecting on how far she has come. From having to stop every few minutes during a workout to not stopping once. We exchanged some fist bumps after the workout and I commended her progress. She reminded me of how she used to always rely on her inhaler and now she doesn’t even know where it is located.

I am so very thankful that I get to be a part of peoples journeys towards a healthier body and mind. Thinking of doing anything else with my life just doesn’t seem very satisfying. Often times the amazing stories around us are hidden or subtle. We take them for granted and lose site of the awesomeness that is within humans. The awesomeness that is on display around us and often ignored or brushed aside as some routine act of daily fortitude.

Reflecting on the very real idea that there are people that come into this gym everyday as a necessity to their mental health is crazy to me. That people have staved of diabetes because of their work at this gym. That someone has found their dream job through this creation. And that people have a new found sense of self worth because of this community.

Often times we judge a persons worth based on what we see. How they test and how they perform is used as the ultimate measuring stick. However, we can never truly measure ones heart. Check out this video for an awesome illustration of this idea at work. I feel like we have a gym full of this little dog. We are that subtle love that is all around us every day.

I am thankful that I have found so many amazing people that come together in this melting pot of 410 to make each other better and pick each other up.

This Thanksgiving take a step back and really look at the blessings that are all around you. You won’t be disappointed.
