Often times in todays world we look around and say, “Things are really terrible. This world has gone mad.” But when we dig deeper we realize that we aren’t as bad off as it may seem. Yes, there are still many, many issues with shootings and hurricanes and poverty and injustice. But I would argue that we have certainly come a long way from when the Roman Empire fought to the death at The Coliseum for entertainment. Or when polio was claiming thousands of lives.

In the movie “It’s A Wonderful Life” George Bailey finds that his riches aren’t based off of monetary gains but by his friends and family. See, George had big plans for himself but life happened. He thought the universe thwarted him every time he got ahead leading him to a meaningless life. Come to find out that his sacrifices saved and advanced many lives.

How could that be? How could a lowly banker in a small town save and change lives? Often we don’t know the actual impact our lives have on those around us. George had actually been leading a wonderful life but was blinded by his own prejudice of how things ought to be.

When I look around the 410 community I feel truly blessed. We have a truly amazing group of people that provide a daily reminder that there is far more good in this world than evil.

[The Netlflix Culture Deck states, “a great workplace is stunning colleagues. A great workplace is not daycare, espresso, health benefits, sushi lunches, nice offices or big compensation.”

With a few changes that could easily read, “a great CrossFit Affiliate is supportive athletes and caring coaches. A great affiliate is not location, fancy locker rooms or the latest billing software.”] (credit: CF Journal)

We may not be the most fancy gym around but I would put our crew up against any in the art of caring. Happy Holidays!

“If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”
